Hey Mister, Throw Me Something...
We took Audrey to her 2nd parade last night and again she had a blast. This girl is into Mardi Gras big time. She got so excited when I picked her up from school and announced that we were going to the parade. She couldn't wait to get home to get ready. She said no to her afternoon snack, she just wanted to get downtown. We met my sister and Mary. Audrey and Mary played while waiting for the parade to begin. She loves her Mary.

Audrey waved to all the floats and horses, and boy did she take home the loot. She has enough stuffed animals to start her own toy store. Her favorite is the moon pies. She loves the banana flavor. After to parade we went for Bar-B-Que at Dreamland with my sister and Mary Catherine. The entire ride to Dreamland, Audrey talked about the parade and all the horses. She said that the horses were sleepy, but will be back in a few days. We are planning on taking her again tomorrow night to the Stripers....she is already talking about it.

Why?????
Why seems to be the question. Audrey is on a kick asking me "Why" every time I tell her to do something. At first I thought it was cute, but now it is driving me batty. No matter what I say, her reply is "Why?". I find myself sounding like my mother when I answer, "because I said so". Again she asks me, "Why". Hopefully this phase will pass soon. Her dad eats it up....thinks it is just so funny. I'm just trying to be patient and I keep telling myself that her little mind is like a sponge and she is absorbing many things. But my goodness, how many more "Why's" will there be? She pointed to the grass and told me that the grass is green. I said that is right, the grass is green. You guessed it, she asked me why? I have no idea why the grass is green. She got me.

Happy Mardi Gras
Last night we took Audrey to the Polka Dots parade, and she totally loved it. She can't wait to do it again. I wasn't sure about exposing Audrey to Mardi Gras so early, but I'm really glad we did. Float #5 was certainly having a great time. Three of my friends from high school are riders and boy were they throwing the goods. Thank you to Melissa... Audrey loves the little white bear you threw to her.

My sister is eating this up, she loves carnival life. I always tease her that in her next life she will be shot out of a canon, eat fire, or juggle something. Kathy says it's in Audrey blood. This is so true. When I was young, my parents took us to every parade, and we always went for pizza afterwards. We didn't have pizza last night, instead we went to Butch Cassidy's for the best food in Mobile.

When we got home, me and Audrey made brownies for her Valentine's party today at school. She took a box of candy for all her classmates, and sweet surprise for her teacher. She is really excited about her party today.

Tomorrow is our 3rd anniversary. Tonight we are going out to dinner and more than likely dancing. I can't believe that it has been three years already. Lindsay is coming over to play with Lulu. Tomorrow night we are taking Audrey to the parade again, and this time we are going take her wagon.

Class of 89' Red Raiders
Saturday night I met with several of my friends from high school. We are in the process of planning our 20th reunion this summer. We met at Bojangles to discuss our plans. After Bojangles, several of us headed to Chantilly's to dance the night away. We talked and laughed at one another all night. It was as if we were still in high school at a party...like we picked up where we left off 20 years ago. To say that everyone had a great time would be an understatement. There were a few people at our meeting that I haven't seen since our 10th reunion. It is amazing how everyone looks the same as they did the day we graduated....if not better. No matter what road we chose, all of us turned out okay. We are all adults and approaching our 40's. We are all are parents of the most beautiful children ever. Must be the "Red Raider" in all of us. Our reunion isn't until June, but I hope we can do this again soon. I've created a slideshow of our night together

Ice Cream
Yesterday after work I picked up Audrey from school and we met Ward at "Dreamland Bar-B-Que" for dinner. Audrey calls it the "Bar-B-Que House". Anyway Dreamland has the best BBQ in Mobile. After dinner we went home. Ward and I were really tired. Audrey wanted to go to the mall??? She is now making requests to places she would like for us to take her. This morning she asked me if she could go to Chuckie Mouse after school. Her daddy will more than likely take her, I think I will skip this trip.

So after dinner last night, we get home and Audrey says she wants some ice cream. I was in the shower so I told her to go ask her daddy to get her a bowl of ice cream. Moments later she came back and I asked her where was her ice cream? She answered: Right here. I peaked out and saw that she had gotten a spoon and the entire carton of frozen yogurt herself. I said to her that she cannot eat ice cream in the bathroom let alone straight out of the carton. When I finally made it to he kitchen, she wasn't there...instead she was in the living room with the ice cream still eating it straight from the carton. I tried not to laugh, but instead tried to be firm with her letting her know this was wrong and not the correct way to eat ice cream. I asked if she would like me to put some in her special bowl, and she looked up at me and said, "No thank you, I'm done. Can I get in the tub now?" I was stunned and didn't know what to say to that. I looked at Ward and he was trying not to bust out with laughter. My goodness this girl is something else!
